open rehearsals

Watch us work. STREB EXTREME ACTION’s rehearsals are always open. Free for everyone, no ticket required. There are no rehearsals this summer. Check back soon for September rehearsal dates.

“The magic of KidAction doesn’t only happen at SLAM. Through our programs, this magic has proliferated in schools across the city and beyond. From preschools to institutions of higher education, students have discovered they too can fly and fall, get up and repeat. Students are celebrated for their ideas, their work, their personal best, and their contribution to a production that inspires the next generation.” –Cassandre Joseph, STREB EXTREME ACTION Co-Artistic Director

partnerships

STREB works with schools and community organizations across New York City to bring PopAction programming directly to students. Field trips, residencies, and long-term partnerships available.

in-school residencies

STREB collaborates with schools and community groups both at their homes and at SLAM to design programs that encourage participants to explore, exchange, create, and connect.

Semester and year-long residencies allow students to participate in weekly sessions in school—scaffolding on a dance or a physical education curriculum—with a team of STREB Action Heroes. School residencies may culminate in a field trip or a performance for peers, teachers, and families.

This program is supported, in part, by the New York State Council of the Arts with the support of the office of the governor and the New York state legislature.

field trips

Elementary, middle, and high school classes, universities, and community groups come to SLAM for an immersive experience that introduces participants to all things SLAM — open rehearsals, discussion with company members, behind-the-scenes tech tours and classes in PopAction technique and circus arts!

Arrange a group visit to a STREB EXTREME ACTION rehearsal. All Company rehearsals are free and open to the public, but a group visit can be arranged to also include a focused conversation with Elizabeth Streb and the Action Heroes where your group will get a peek into the creative process.
